Comodo Secure Email Encryption:

Email encryption is a task that’s very rarely found and often confusing. The need for email encryption is that ordinary email messages can be read by anyone who is involved in the processing of your electronic message. Comodo Secure Email is a safer option to secure your email communications by encrypting it through public key encryption algorithm. It runs on 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Win 2000, XP, Vista and Win 7 and it doesn’t take too much of your RAM space.

All you do is to send unencrypted or encrypted emails to your recipients and Comodo Secure Email will take care of the rest. If you send an encrypted mail, then the receiver can download Comodo Secure Email to view the message. In that case the receiver’s digital certificate will be added to your library automatically. There is also an option for a one-time web form view of the message. It cuts out the complexity of encryption and exchange digital signatures with ease.

Installing Comodo Secure Email is a simple process but it will take you through a number of steps signing up for the digital certificate.

Interface:

Comodo Secure Email comes with a neat and easy-to-use interface. You can view the settings and make configuration changes as you like.

Features:

·         Once Comodo Secure Email is set up, it automatically signs your emails.

·         Encryption of your email messages are done only if the public key of the recipient is installed on your computer.

·         The tool is integrated with most major mail clients such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Incredimail and many other POP, SMTP and IMAP based mail clients.

Conclusion:

Comodo Secure Email is completely free for personal use. Backup your encryption key and certificate (in an USB drive or so) to be on a safer side. You can encrypt your USB drive too.

Also find GnuPG, another email encryption software that I reviewed earlier.
