Pomegranate Phone: Viral Marketing

Campaigned as an innovative all-in-one phone, Pomegranate Phone marked a new edge for marketing approach.

This is a viral advertising campaign of Pomegranate Phone. Though this stuff was in hype for a long while, someone will still ask if that’s real.

The ad has been very well displayed that anyone would wonder at it for a moment. Just consider the technologies it offer – a 72 inch screen size built in projector, a universal translator, and none-the-less a coffee maker and an electric razor!

However, Pomegranate Phone is an innovative online campaign aimed in attracting traffic toward the web site thereby indirectly promoting Nova Scotia. You can get to know that if you click the Release date button on the top right corner of Pomegranate Phone website. (Click Enter and then Explore. At the end of the video you will find the Release date button on the top right corner.)

Wikipedia says that Nova Scotia has been criticized for spending a whopping amount of $300,000 for this campaign.

But either way we should admit that this innovative ad has done its purpose of attracting web traffic towards it. Otherwise we wouldn’t be reading it here!

Train that never stops..

I found this concept in a forwarded email and felt it’s interesting.

Say there are 20 stations from Point A to Point B. Even if the train stops for 5 minutes in each station, there will be a total 1hr 40 minutes time waste in the whole journey. If not more time, it can never be less than this.

How the concept works?

Incoming passengers: - There is a connector cabin in every station. The passenger at the station embarks onto a connector cabin even before the train arrives at the station. The train never stops in the station; instead it just slows down to collect this cabin on its top and moves on as a double decker.

For those who want to get off at the station: - After unloading the incoming passengers from the cabin, the cabin slides to the rear of the train roof. Those who want to get off the next station just need to board the connector cabin and the train will drop this whole connector cabin in the next station. Passengers can take their own time to disembark and at the same time, the train will collect the incoming passengers on another connector cabin. So, the train will always have to drop a cabin and pick another one at each station.

Even more than time, I felt this concept as energy efficient too. We can avoid the energy it needs for the train to stop and accelerate at every station...
