Voice Search Chrome extension: Search by speaking
Voice Search is a Google Chrome extension that allows users to enter search queries by speaking.
Follow the link to install Voice Search. As the extension is installed, a microphone icon will be shown next to the URL bar.
When you want to search something, all you have to do is to click the microphone icon and speak your query instead of typing it.
Google, YouTube, Wikipedia, Bing, DuckDuckGo etc come as default services. But you also have the option to add new search engines.
The functionality is also available on any web page search box that uses HTML5.
Voice search worked pretty cool for me in both Windows and Ubuntu. It’s very similar to Android voice search functionality, but the app is still in experimental mode and may give you some very weird results at times. A keyboard shortcut support can be a good enhancement to its usability.
